Kimchi Making and Sharing Event (Charity Work by Samsung Heavy Industry), 23 november 2013

We were lucky to be invited by Samsung to attend the event. We were really looking forward for it but unfortunately hb and Rayan had to bailed out at the very last minutes. Rayan fell sick, he must have catched some cold yesterday when were out in the mountain..zut alors!!

The morning start with a bit of stress..Louisa and I arrived few minutes later, can't find parking. And then there a bit chaos when we entered the building. People were everywhere..we were quite lost. I managed to grab someone attention and ask where we have to go..

Once we were shown to our table, we were given a Samsung gilet each, apron, head cover and gloves that could reach up to my armpit! After a brief demonstration i was assigned a place and were shown a big bag of cabbage and a big plastic bag of chili paste mixture.

While I'm preparing mentally how am I going to do it, Louisa was happy to be here, though she does look bored time to time as she doesn't want to do any, but I managed to asked her to do at least one, just for the photo which she obliged.. After almost 1 hr of hard labour, someone told me it's time for break.YAY. There's some hot foods and coffee waiting for us. I had to skip the coffee as there is a very long line for that and I opt for the haemul pajjeon (Korean scallion and seafood pancake) and some kimchi noodle soup. It's simple but yet it's delicious. I was offered some local alcohol (it's 10 am!!) and some braised pork which I declined politely.

After the break, Louisa and I went back to the hall and I use this time to take some photo with the hp..that's explained with the bad quality of the photo. I just wish hb were there with the 'real' camera,

Back to work, my korean "colleague" told me that I'm doing good and I should continue doing so ..blushing!!!! Can I consider myself a  pro kimchi maker now??? LOL

Just before 12, we all done, we were stink of kimchi..back ache, cold feet and cold fingers. Can't wait to go home to nurse my little boy and back to the comfort..

Before leaving, my "colleague" told me that I should follow her and get our freshly made kimchi.

In all, we had a great morningm spending time with the locals, communicate with our hands and basic english and korean but we managed to understand each other. Thank you Samsung for the invitation and hoping next year we will be invited again..

Now...what am I going to do with almost 5 kgs of kimchi???
