Roman Honey Spiced Cake

Miss 14 did this as part of her Latin homework. She did everything by herself except for the oven part where she's still bit clueless..mama was just standing right next to her for a moral support and did the clean up.

Roman Honey Spiced Cake

Ingredients
250 ml honey
350 ml milk
250 g brown sugar
350 g whole wheat flour
150 g all purpose flour 
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp ground star anis
1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven at 170 C degrees. Grease a cake mold or two loaves pans and line with parchment paper.

Place honey, milk, sugar and spices in a small saucepan. 
Over a medium heat, bring to simmer and stir. 

In a mixing bowl, add flour and baking soda. 
Pour gently the warm mixture and mix everything with a spatula until well incorporated.

Transfer the mixture to the greased pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until deep brown and tester comes out clean.
