Chocolate chiffon cake with chocolate curls. Made this today for a friend's birthday. 


Chocolate Chiffon Cake

Basic Recipe for chiffon cake : Chiffon Cake

*Replace the 180 ltr of pandan juice with cold coffee/water
**Add 25g cocoa powder (to be add into dry ingredients)

Chocolate Ganache:
200 g dark chocolate
20 cl cream

Chopped chocolate and place it in a bowl.

Heat cream, bring it just to a boil. Pour the warm cream over the chopped chocolate and leave it for few minutes. Whisk until smooth. 

Allow it to cool until a bit thick. 

Pour the ganache over the cake.

Dark chocolate
Baking Sheet
Spatula


Chopped chocolate and place it in a heat proof bowl.

Prepare a sauce pan for double boiler. Place the chocolate bowl on the sauce pan and melt it. 

Stir constantly, remove from heat and stir thoroughly. Allow chocolate to cool slightly.

Pour the chocolate on the baking sheet, spread it evenly and thinly. allow to hardened, or put the chocolate for few minutes in the fridge.

Place the sheet on hardened and non-slip surface. Push the chocolate with spatula away from you, forming curls. Lift the curls with toothpick or skewer.

Place the curls in the fridge until it ready to be use
